Compensation includes a base salary of $108,800.00 - $181,400.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.Job Description
The Lead Technical Project Manager role manages large-scale, high-risk technical programs or projects. This role manages matrixed, cross-functional teams responsible for delivering defined technical project outputs on time, within budget, and with quality results.
Lead Technical Project Managers plan, organize, monitor, and oversee one or more projects to meet defined business specifications. They work closely with the business and technology partners on their respective projects to guide efforts toward achieving intended business results and customer value. Their primary responsibility is defining, planning, tracking and managing technology projects, identifying key resources and providing the direction they require in order to meet project objectives. They also ensure appropriate management and business involvement throughout the life of the project.
Job Responsibilities:
Project Delivery
Lead multiple large-scale projects to successful completion, managing scope, schedule and cost.Develop project management deliverables, within compliance of approved methodology requirementsCommunicate a clear vision of the project’s objectives, and motivate the project team to achieve themOrganize the work into manageable work packages or phases and determine an effective approach to completing the workManage relationships with project stakeholders, including Technology and Business partnersEstablish and publish clear priorities among project activitiesResolve conflicts and remove obstacles to ensure the project team can make progressEffectively coordinate the activities of the team to meet project milestonesProvide performance input to team members’ functional managersPlanning
Proactively manage change to baselined scope, schedule and cost variables, communicating impacts and facilitating decisionsDevelop accurate estimates for effort, budget and scheduleDevelop resource plans, including skills required. Work with Technology and Business Partners to procure resources, both internally and externally.Manage the financial aspects of the project: budgeting, estimate to actual variance, etc.Develop and maintain all project management documentationAnalyze the actual performance against the plan and make adjustments consistent with plan objectivesRisk, Change and Issue Management - Communications
Analyze risks, establish contingency plans and identify trigger events and responsibility for initiating mitigating actionProvide tracking and reporting on progress to plan, cost and schedule reporting, and change controlResolve issues that impact the project in a timely, effective manner.Manage vendor relations and procurement related to the project requirementsLeadership
Provide input to refine company-established PM MethodologyMentor Technology Project Managers in the use of industry best practicesQualifications:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 6 years’ experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master’s degree and 4 years’ experience; a Ph.D. and 1 year of experience; or 10 years’ experience in a related fieldProficient with Waterfall methodologiesKnowledge of and competency in PMI-based project management processes, including planning tasks and allocating resources, risk management, issues management, time management, and financial management/programs.Demonstrated experience running multiple large scale, complex technology projects or programsExperience with business support software applications such as MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, Visio, and Access) required.Preferred:
Knowledge of Agile methodologies PMP certification preferred, ACP or SCM Experience managing projects in corporate technology environmentBenefits
