POSITION SUMMARY:
The Lead Technician shall be responsible in supervising the Senior Technician and Technician who are allocated on each section under Engineering Department to achieve on-going guest/internal customer satisfaction and team goals through the maintenance/operation and in up-keeping their related Key Performance Indicator (KPI), including upkeep of all assigned facilities within the property, consistency of electricity supply, water supply, and proper/continuous working condition of all property facility for their every assigned duty. Informs Duty Engineer of any concerns impacting on his ability to successfully discharge his duties.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Supervises the senior technician and technician on the proper maintenance of all equipment and facilities within the company by diligently following the preventive maintenance program of the property facilities.
2. Ensures he is fully conversant with the operational characteristics of the engineering systems and equipment.
3. Carries out effective checks on a regular basis to ensure the system is functioning as required.
4. Follows up to ensure that the functioning requirements by the end user are implemented as instructed by his immediate superior.
5. Implements the SOP’s as instructed by the Engineering Manager.
6. Recommends additional SOP’s deemed necessary and recommends improvements for existing SOP’s and to comply with Electrical and Mechanical standards.
7. Collaborates closely with senior technician and technician. Immediately reports difficulties for action by senior technician/technician and external contractors.
8. Identifies engineering system faults. Applies his diagnostic skills in the event there are failures in systems.
9. Ensures active participation in implementing energy saving initiatives and the principles that energy conservation is everyone’s responsibility.
10. Executes management policies.
11. Ensures their effective utilization and high operating efficiency.
12. Ensures senior technician and technician have a complete understanding of the company policies, procedures and particularly those related to fire and life safety, hygiene, and health.
13. Enforces strict compliance with these requirements.
14. Prepares timely reports in accordance with the approved scope and format affecting the activities for each certain department’s efficiencies, costs and the likes.
15. Reports accidents, injuries and unsafe work conditions to superiors.
16. Assists Duty Engineer / Manager in ensuring facility equipment preventive maintenance is well implemented.
17. Performs regular rounds for hotel, public areas and gaming areas front and heart of the house areas.
18. Performs other reasonable duties as assigned by his superior from time to time.
QUALIFICATIONS:
I. Experience
Preferably minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a hotel/casino or entertainment industry and no less than 3 years’ experience in a supervisory capacity.
II. Education
1. Preferably with a Degree or Advanced Diploma in Engineering field.
2. License Holder in engineering field is an advantage.
III. Skills / Competencies
1. Good command in both written and spoken English.
2. Good working knowledge in PC skills and use of all MS Office applications, including Outlook.
3. Wide understanding of engineering equipment facility preventive maintenance.
4. Understanding of Engineering Budget Forecasting and Budget Control.
5. Good leadership and able to make sound decision under pressure and perform other duties as and when required in times of emergency.
