DESIGNATION:    Lead Technician (LDAR)
DEPARTMENT:    INDUSTRY - NDT
REPORTING TO: Contract Manager (LDAR)

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 
1.    Familiarize oneself with existing and new database & P&ID’s. Confirm that all stream/services as specified have been identified. Indicate areas that are improper and report it to CM.
2.    Using, advanced IR cameras, carrying out leak detection survey of identified light hydrocarbons, Gas Service Lines, Components and Equipment’s.
3.    Thorough knowledge on USEPA M21 – EPA-453/R-95-017 and provide site-based leak rate calculation.
4.    Must demonstrate and classify leaks flagging on site and set monitoring route.
5.    Using, advanced IR cameras, carrying out leak detection survey of identified light hydrocarbons, Gas Service Lines, Components and Equipment’s’, Issue repair work order of the identified leaks as per repair criteria.
6.    Using Toxic Vapor Analyzer (TVA), to quantify the leak and report to operations department and classify leak either as “repairable Online”, or “Requires Shutdown”.
7.    Record results of monitoring and submit an electronic daily activity report to respective departments/refineries. 
8.    Monitoring flare Relief Valves, using FLIR T640 - Thermal Camera & UT Device/s - VPAC II.
9.    Assistance in repair: by being available continuously at the repair site carrying out repeated measurements.
10.  Compiling & tracking the leak detection monitoring records.
11.  Schedule Weekly & Monthly Internal plan and assign Assistant Technicians to their Jobs.
12.  Shall be competent in using software for;
               * managing database of all LDAR components,
               * Input monitoring data results. Equipment used with date and time of record
               * Input repair status of each component
               * Viewing and generating various kinds of report, report histories.
13.    Submit a Monthly: 30-day or a Cycle: 15-day report in the approved format. To identify deficiencies & add recommendations to improve effectiveness of the program. Indicate NEW Leaks and make a record of it and highlight it in the report and ensure that it’s billed   in the monthly Invoice.
14.    Responding to Emergency Callouts: In addition to the approved plan/schedule, at any time 24Hrsx7Days emergencies services /complaints/plant-shut downs must be attended.
15.    Comply at all times with all applicable legal requirements, BV Kuwait QHSSE Policies and procedures, client’s HSE procedures and practices
 

AUTHORITIES:

1.    Authority for the Stop Work, if the situation is Unsafe.

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:

1.    High School Certificate/ Diploma
2.    Minimum 5 Yrs experience in similar projects
3.    Minimum 2 Years’ experience in using IR Camera

 

DESIRED SKILLS:

1.    Must possess superior command in English for reading, writing & oral understanding.
2.    Must Possess valid Kuwait driving License or GCC driving License
3.    Must be able to pass - Permit to Work (PTW) Tests.
