Job Details The Night Lead Technologist assists the Manager/Supervisor maintain the orderly and efficient operation of the department during the night shift and assumes responsibility for the proper performance of all laboratory procedures and the reporting of test results in the absence of the laboratory director and/or manager/supervisor. Additionally, the lead technologist must be able to perform all routine and special procedures associated with the department in a prompt, accurate and reliable manner according to established hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Performs additional duties as required by the Manager/Supervisor, Administrative Director of the Laboratory, Quality Systems Manager and/or the Laboratory Medical Director. POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in clinical laboratory technology or biology, chemistry or the physical sciences from an accredited institution. Licensure/Certification: Current New York State Department of Education license as Clinical Laboratory Technologist (CLT) Skills, Knowledge or Abilities: Computer skills essential (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point). Effective oral, written, presentation and listening skills essential. Demonstrable leadership ability with strong clinical and administrative skills. General knowledge of laboratory operation. Physical Requirements: Position is moderate requiring sitting for long periods of time, interspersed with walking to and from various locations. Excellent verbal and listening skills required for communicating clearly and effectively with others. Position requires hand and finger dexterity and the ability to bend, stretch, reach and lift/carry items up to 45 pounds. Near visual acuity required for reading results from reports and viewing computer screen. Experience: Minimum of 4 years of pertinent clinical laboratory experience subsequent to NYSED licensure as Clinical Laboratory Technologist (CLT). Supervisory / administrative experience preferred. Salary Range USD $52.28 - USD $64.74 /Hr. The salary range or rate listed does not include any differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
