Oversees the Telecommunications center. Responsible for scheduling and managing the daily operations of the Telecommunication center. and operators. Telecommunications Operator is responsible for receiving, screening, and evaluating incoming emergency and non-emergency calls. They also monitor all system alarms and coordinate call codes. The Telecom Operator must adhere to assigned duties, attend meetings and educational classes as required. Responsibilities include contacting on-call teams: administrative, medical personnel, surgery, anesthesia, cardiac, and emergency/disaster.
Essential Functions:
Must possess ability to troubleshoot and resolve caller problems and specific request in a timely mannerDelivers excellent, customer-focused service by prioritizing and navigating all internal and external calls in a prompt respectful mannerProvides patient and employee information, while maintaining appropriate confidentially Monitors and responds to all emergency codes; records all shift occurrences by completing proper documentation per site policies/protocolAssists hospital staff with issues related to pagers, online database, and internal paging as needed Performs other administrative or clerical duties and projects as assignedEducation:
High School Degree or GED (preferred)Experience:
Prior telecommunications, hospital or medical office experience preferred but not requiredPrevious Call Center Customer Service experience preferredSkills & Abilities:
