We are looking for a highly motivated Lead Test Automation to join our Products & Technology team in Toronto. The Product & Technology team is an exciting new team passionate about using the newest technologies and approaches to deliver solutions & systems for the modern-day end user. Our primary focus is to provide real value, and we encourage innovation as well as empower open-thinking for all our team members. As a member of this team, you will be responsible for:

Collaborating with and leading other team members on all test automation project activities from inception through to completion

Developing and implementing testing strategy and test automation assets

Creating and maintaining overall test strategy, scripts, and documentation with focus on ROI

Designing and developing scalable solutions for automating business processes

Directing program teams to use new processes/tools, providing coaching and mentoring

Supporting existing processes and implementing change requirements, with a focus on continuous improvement

Identifying new industry tools/methodologies that enable automation efficiencies and address applications automation challenges

Driving the test automation approach, preparing solutions, designing automation frameworks and leading the implementation of test strategy, plans and execution

To succeed in this role, you have:

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent program

5+ years of hands-on experience in developing and implementing Test Automation strategies with 3 to 5 years of technical leadership experience

Expertise in API and UI automation testing using Playwright

Proven development experience with a wide range of test automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Playwright, Selenium, JUnit, NUnit, SoapUI, LeanFT, Robot Framework, TestNG, Protractor) and proficiency in scripting languages such as Perl, Python, and Bash.

Hands-on programming experience (e.g. TypeScript, JavaScript, Java, C#)

Experience reviewing artefacts including code reviews (application and test automation scripts)

Strong experience in applying test automation best practices for a variety of frameworks

Expert troubleshooting and root cause analysis abilities

Experience with architecting, developing, and maintaining innovative test automation frameworks

Proficient in writing and optimizing SQL database queries

Experience working with DevOps teams to ensure test automation framework is automated and fully functional in pipelines.

A strong work ethic; accountable, focused, and organized

The ability to analyze situations and make informed decisions; able to understand problems, think critically, and provide solutions
