Lead Test Engineer
Position Description:

Manager of overall Test related activities, with weekly communication and reporting to PMO Test counterparts and leadership. Lead Test Engineer for new development efforts. Responsible for user story related test case design and execution, authoring of Software Test Plans and Reports, defect tracking management, requirements interpretation and traceability.

This position can be located anywhere in the continental United States

Your future duties and responsibilities:

o Develop and document the test strategy and test plans.
o Define the scope of testing within the context of each release/delivery.
o Identify the test cases to be automated and manage the automation process.
o Lead the functional testing efforts and ensure all functional requirements are tested.
o Execute test cases and report defects using appropriate tools.
o Coordinate with the development team to ensure timely resolution of defects.
o Mentor and guide junior testers and ensure the team follows best practices.
o Coordinate with project managers; agile lead, developers, and other stakeholders to
ensure smooth testing processes.
o Allocate tasks to team members and monitor their progress.
o Ensure that the software meets the specified requirements and quality standards.
o Conduct reviews and inspections to identify and resolve issues early in the development
cycle.
o Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
o Prepare and present test reports, defect reports, and other relevant documentation.
o Maintain comprehensive documentation of test cases, test results, and defects.
o Communicate test progress, test results, and other relevant information to stakeholders.
o Identify areas for improvement in the testing process and implement changes.
o Stay updated with the latest testing tools, techniques, and industry trends.
o Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the testing team.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

o Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related
field.
o Due to the nature of the work, US citizenship and an active SECRET security clearance are required
o 8+ years of experience in software testing, with a significant portion in a leadership or
senior role.
o Proven experience in leading and managing a team of testers.
o Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, tools, and processes.
o Experience with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, JUnit).
o Proficiency in using test management tools (e.g., JIRA, Zephyr Scale).
o Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
o Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
o Ability to understand complex systems and identify potential issues.
o Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
o Ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
6. Leadership and Management Skills:
o Proven ability to lead and mentor a team.
o Strong organizational and project management skills.
o Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Desired qualifications/non-essential skills required:
o ISTQB Certified Tester (Foundation Level or Advanced Level).
o Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or other Agile certifications.
o Familiarity with Confluence
o Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
o Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
o Adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies and methodologies.

CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $99,200.00 - $195,200.00.
