SCOPE AND PURPOSE OF POSITION:

To provide safe door through door transportation assistance to children in foster care and kinship placement in order for them to attend visitation at The Salvation Army Visitation Center.

13 Paid Holiday's, Vacation Time & 3 Personal DaysSick Time=1 sick day per month accrual and Attendance BonusRemitted Tuition Program with Syracuse University.Medical, Dental (includes orthodontia ryder), Vision Insurances, and Flexible Spending Account.  Insurance cost is less than a 10% contribution of payment by our employees.Pension Plan and Tax deferred annuity savings account.Forgiveness loan=The Salvation Army is considered a qualified organization for this Federal program.Long-Term, Short-Term Disability Programs and Life/Supplemental InsurancesOn-site Day Care and Pre-K program with employee discount Responsibilities Participate in regular supervision sessions with FFT Kinship Supervisor.Facilitate monthly transporter meetings with the transport team.Ensure that the vehicles are properly and routinely maintained and prepared for client and staff use. Create and maintain daily transportation schedules and distribute them to transport staff.Manage transport requests from visitation staff as well as transport change requests, including transportation requests for the other community visitation centers.Provide safe door through door transportation assistance to children in foster care and kinship care, in order for them to attend visitation at The Salvation Army Visitation Center.Maintain required and adequate trip records, weekly transportations stats, and fuel usage.Conduct daily vehicle checks to identify problems for repair and identify preventive maintenance to be done.Pass all motor vehicles driving tests and requirements.Responsible for maintaining and renewing valid driver’s license.Provide program support at visitation center with visitation supplies for program participants.Order building and office supplies as needed.Oversee general building maintenance and submit work orders when needed.Attend staff meetings as needed.Attend training and supervision.Perform other tasks as determined by FFT Kinship Supervisor.

 

Qualifications Requires a high school diploma or GED or equivalent.More than one and up to three years of experience transporting clients.On an ongoing basis must maintain compliance with all DOT regulations required by program.Current and valid license for vehicle using that meets The Salvation Army insurance requirements.Training and/or experience with passenger assistance techniques desired.Must pass clearance through NYS DSS Central Registry and Drug Testing.
