Lead Ultrasound Technologist - Ultrasound

Under the direction of the Department Director, supervision of the Outpatient Imaging Manager, and in collaboration with radiologists, the Lead Sonographer coordinates the day-to-day operations of the ultrasound section of the department as well as performs clinical diagnostic ultrasound imaging procedures and related activities according to department standards for all patients served:  infant, child, adolescent, adult and geriatric.  Serves as customer service representative to patients, their families, the public and the medical staff.  Participates in quality control and organizational improvement activities.  Serves as a clinical/technical resource for less experience sonographers.

Required qualifications:

Graduate of a program in diagnostic ultrasound approved by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the American Medical Association. National Certification from American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography upon hire National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire

Preferred qualifications:

Vascular certification conducted by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers within 2 years of hire Successful completion of national certification examinations in obstetrical-gynecological and abdominal ultrasound conducted by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers upon hire. Experience as a hospital-based sonographer. Supervisory experience.
