Compensation includes a base salary of $119,600.00 - $199,400.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

Working with UX leadership and senior company leaders, you’ll spread an understanding of user goals and needs, providing guidance to help teams design and develop effective digital projects. What You’ll Do  

Working in a scaled agile environment, you’ll work with the Director of UX Design to establish processes and best practices for your team and partners. You’ll oversee research for a portfolio of products, spreading an understanding of client goals and needs to design and development teams. Your job will entail:

Establishing, prioritizing and managing new quantitative and qualitative UX research programs.Chartering, planning, executing and reporting on research studies.Identifying and applying the most appropriate research method, such as moderated/unmoderated usability studies, heuristic evaluations, card sorts, task-based analysis, surveys and contextual inquiries.Creating, modeling and enforcing research best practices and processes.Maintaining and evolving research artifact templates.Developing user personas, journey maps, jobs-to-be-done frameworks and other deliverables.Working with product managers, designers and analytics teams to identify research focus areas.Proactively identifying usability improvement opportunities.Delivering insights, findings and design recommendations to colleagues across the organization, serving as an expert consultant.Administering training to help UX and product management teams conduct rapid discovery interviews.Maintaining a pipeline of rapid discovery studies.Establishing and scaling evaluative research efforts for agile UX design.Acting as an adviser to the UX leadership team to ensure research has a voice in team strategy.

 

Who You Are  

A born collaborator and with outstanding interpersonal qualities, you have excellent communication skills and an understanding of project management principles. Your attention to detail is complemented by your ability to deliver concise summarizations. You also have:

 

Minimum: 

A bachelor’s degree in related discipline and 6 years' experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as master’s degree with 4 years of experience, a Ph.D. and 2 years of experience, OR 10 years of experience in a related field.A proven track record of research expertise, strong moderation skills, mentoring and change management.Experience planning and executing usability research activities for both responsive web and native mobile applications. Experience using a variety of usability research tools (UserTesting, UserZoom, Ethnio, Morae, Figma, etc.).Experience creating prototypes for testing digital interactive interfaces.Experience with both in-person and remote testing.A strong understanding of usability research best practices, theories and methodologies.Knowledge and experience with the principles of user-centered design and technology.An understanding of mobile human interface guidelines, as well as the possibilities and limitations of hardware and operating systems.Excellent time management and prioritization skills.The ability to direct and multi-task effectively under pressure.

 

Preferred:

An advanced degree in human factors, human-computer interaction, information design, cognitive science or related field.
