Lead Veterinary Assistant
Mobile Imaging Veterinary Ultrasound (MiVU) is a mobile veterinary ultrasound service serving veterinarians in the states of Virginia and Maryland. MiVU conveniently offers advanced diagnostic ultrasound capability performed in veterinary hospitals thereby allowing veterinarians to preserve and maintain doctor / client / patient relationship. Services provided include but are not limited to abdominal ultrasound, echocardiogram with cardiologist interpretation, fine-needle biopsies, tru-cut biopsies, and cavity centesis. MiVU is a veterinary mobile imaging company that provides diagnostic ultrasound services to over 500 small animal hospitals throughout the DMV, RVA and Virginia Beach areas. We are in search of an enthusiastic animal loving individual who would enjoy becoming an integral part of a fast-paced high-level and diagnostic imaging team. This is a veterinary support role which will work around 40+ hrs/wk. Being available Monday-Friday (5 days/week) from 8:30/9AM to 5PM Providing back-up assistance as needed for our teams in additional locations Driving in various parts of DC, Maryland and Virginia Lifting, handling, and comforting animals Keeping patients still, while the doctors perform the ultrasound services Lifting and loading all equipment in and out of the company vehicle Setting up and taking apart ultrasound equipment Prepping biopsy needles and slides Keeping inventory of all supplies Occasionally handling car maintenance Support hospital managers with scheduling and other tasks as needed Experience: Customer Service: 1 year (preferred) Leadership/Management: 1 year (preferred) Veterinary assistant: 2 year (required) Animal restraint: 2 year (required) Driving: 3+ years (required) Position Requirements: Valid Driver’s license High School diploma or GED certificate Flexible schedule availability for Mon-Fri Passion for animals and the veterinary field Must possess strong communication skills, good judgment and be able to manage stressful situations, and work with others on a team respectfully Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds Health Care Plan (Medical, Dental, & Vision) Retirement Plan (401K) Life Insurance (Basic, Voluntary, & AD&D) Short Term Disability Paid Time Off Work/life balance with no weekend hours Educational assistance for qualified teammates to enroll in AVMA-CVTEA accredited veterinary technician programs Teledoc Discounted Veterinary Care EAP (Employee Assistance Program) A large network of over 5,000 veterinary professionals who all share common interest in promoting a collaborative working environment and individual career growth.
