Foth is seeking a team-focused, innovative, and results-oriented Lead Water Resources Engineer who is looking to be a significant contributor in discipline development and the design of diverse civil engineering projects across multiple industries. This position can be based out of our Milwaukee, Madison, Des Moines or Minneapolis locations.
Primary Responsibilities:Shape Technical Direction: Collaborate with our Water Technical Competency Leader to define and implement the technical vision and strategic roadmap for our water resources discipline.Standard Work and Quality Assurance: Establish, refine, and optimize discipline-specific standard work, training initiatives, and quality assurance/quality control systems to ensure excellence in project delivery.Engineering Leadership: Take the reins on technical engineering project designs and reports spanning stormwater management, watershed planning, modeling analysis, green infrastructure, and best management practices.Specialized Analysis: Conduct a range of hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, including drainage channel design, erosion and sediment control, floodplain modeling, stream and wetland restoration designs, and water quality studies.Government Liaison: Develop and present technical water resources reports for local, state, and federal agencies, playing a vital role in regulatory compliance and environmental stewardship.Strategic Planning: Drive watershed and stormwater management planning initiatives, leveraging your expertise to inform sustainable, resilient solutions.Design and Documentation: Prepare comprehensive design plans, specifications, and bid documents for stormwater, drainage, and water quality construction projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.Required Qualifications:Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.Professional Credentials: Hold a Professional Engineer (PE) License in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and/or Iowa.Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in water resources, with a track record of success as a project manager or technical lead in the engineering consulting sector.Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency with stormwater modeling software such as HEC-RAS, HydroCAD, XPSWMM, as well as AutoCAD, MicroStation, HEC-HMS, and ArcGIS.Preferred Qualifications:Certifications: Possess Certified Floodplain Manager Accreditation.Extensive Experience: Minimum of 15 years of experience, including leadership roles overseeing technical teams and hands-on engineering involvement in design, reports, and feasibility studies for water resources projects.Client Engagement: Proven ability in direct client engagement, building and nurturing relationships to drive project success.
