Basic Job Functions:

SUMMARY:

The Manufacturing lead is responsible for supporting and engaging production associates, ensuring that daily production goals and quality standards are met and maintained and upholding an environment free of hazards. In addition, this position is responsible for including but not limited to inventory control management, directing work of others, assisting with performance management, rewarding, coaching and developing associates, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Perform final assemblies of door orders and manufactured parts per the daily production schedule. Read and follows blueprints, work orders, and other instructions in order to build and assemble parts in an accurate and timely fashion. Ensures the production process inspections meet the highest quality standards required. Support daily production operations by prioritizing, scheduling, and directing the work of assigned associates ensuring the work flow is efficient meeting standard of excellence and achieving financial and performance goals and objectives. Continually evaluate processes and methods, recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment, performance, utilization of associates, and quality of product. Communicate and maintain close contact with Operations Manager, Operations Supervisor II, and production associates to ensure unity and clear communications through personal interactions and meetings. Review and schedule daily labor requirements with Operations Manager. Prepare, analyze and submit data/reports to other departments. Develop, empower and lead a strong, cohesive and collaborative diverse team by providing ongoing feedback and cultivating their capabilities and utilizing their strengths while ensuring compliance with Company values, policies and procedures.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications: Strong mechanical assembly background. Ability to prioritize workload and to manage more than one task at a time. Ability to read and interpret reports, work instructions and blueprints. High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. Ability to lift 50 - 75 pounds occasionally. Squatting, kneeling and standing frequently. Ability to develop, empower and lead a team. Ability to collaborate and function as a member of a team. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and SAP. Ability and means to travel as needed, proof of valid driver’s license, liability and property damage insurance on personal vehicle used is required. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Preferred Qualifications:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
