SummaryThe Group Leader is responsible for leading associates in the domestic manufacturing facilities. Understanding and implementing business strategy by handling associate issues, maintaining various reports and documentation, implementing safety initiatives and supporting Carhartt’s Mission, Vision and company goals.

Responsibilities Coach, mentor and develop Team Leaders and team members. Continuous Improvement (kaizen) Identify/Implement improvements in workplace, work aids, attachments, machinery, process, method, etc. and track manufacturing cost reductions Work with Engineering to develop work standards, takt times, and line balancing to ensure safety, quality, and productivity KPI’s are met, to optimize workflow, which includes optimizing sequencing of operations, workstation layout, and proper documentation. Manage a group of hourly team leaders, and team members to achieve daily targets in areas of safety, quality, productivity, cost, and team member development. Trouble shoot and problem solve, finding root causes, to drive sustainable corrective actions in safety, quality, production, delivery, and cost, to exceed goals. Support Training Department in successfully training associates to use the correct methods, provide a safe workplace, exceed quality expectations, and provide positive support and guidance to trainees. Support and manage projects to completion through continuous improvement methodology Conduct audits of job instructions, 5S procedures, and standard work instructions; revise and update as needed. Administer and communicate company policies and procedures with associates and enforce corrective actions as deemed necessary. Understand and adhere to the current labor agreement contract. Assist in establishing and maintaining safety, housekeeping, and preventive maintenance in assigned areas. Accurately maintain in a timely fashion, by reporting and documenting, all necessary paperwork including, but not limited to: workforce, attendance, incident reports and near misses Education Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience required in Supply Chain Management Required Skills and Experience 2 Years working in a Lean Manufacturing Environment. 3 years’ industrial sewing experience preferred. 2 years’ leadership experience preferred. Intermediate computer skills. SAP experience desirable Working Conditions Manufacturing Environment Union and Non Union Environment Moderate Lifting (30-40 lbs.)
