Leader of Experience Design, Small & Lower Midmarket

This role serves as the Chapter Lead for the Small & Lower Midmarket, leading a team of 3-4 Experience Designers. Reporting to the Head of Experience Research, it supports the Transformation Lead in spearheading the UX transformation, strategy, and execution. Furthermore, this role takes on the responsibilities of both a role model and a player coach, leading experience design activities. It promotes collaboration with multidisciplinary team members, stakeholders, and other Experience Designers, while advocating for a customer-centric approach.

 

Responsibilities:

Lead UX transformation and strategy: Collaborate with stakeholders across businesses to define the overall UX vision and roadmap aligned with business goals. Conduct user research (e.g., surveys, interviews, usability testing) to understand user needs, behaviors, and pain points. Develop journey maps to inform design decisions and prioritize user experience improvements. Partner with Domain Leaders and Product Owners to ensure UX is seamlessly integrated throughout the product development lifecycle. Ensure design solutions are consistent with global standards and design system. Analyze the UX data to measure the effectiveness of design implementations and identify areas for improvement. Demonstrate the impact of user-centered design, with regular reports to key stakeholders.

 

Standards for craftsmanship​: Serves as a role model for “how” work is conducted (i.e., “what good looks like”) to ensure professional standards are met across the Chapter​. Participates in solving complex problems and provides functional expertise within chapter and squads​. Actively comprehends and adheres to Global Experience Design standards, while seeking most effective methods to adopt and implement these standards within the scope of local projects and initiatives.

 

Chapter member development​: Facilitates feedback and evaluation process for chapter members, supporting overall career development and trajectory​. Provides ongoing coaching and career guidance through regular 1:1s.

 

Resource allocation / staffing to core domains and enabling platforms​: Supports staffing process that balances developmental needs with business objectives. Identifying and collecting staffing needs to consult with Global Lead to ensure future staffing and hiring​. Proven leadership experience leading a team of UX/UI designers while collaborating with multidisciplinary professionals including business stakeholders.Professional with a well-rounded user experience design portfolio that includes discovery, ideation, concepting, detailed design, prototypes and validation​.Entrepreneurial self-starter who is self-motivated, but also a team player with a professional presence​.Experience with conducting UX research such as usability testing, A/B testing, surveying​.UI/visual design skills keeping the focus on maximizing communication​.High proficiency in using design tools (e.g., Figma)​.Experience working in an Agile setting (or willingness to learn Agile ways of working)​.Experience with designing quality consumer products in keeping with design trends.​

 Ideal profile:

Current/prior role as a player coach or UX/UI manager at a large company.Experience in full spectrum of UX/UI design activities, which includes UX research, wireframing, high-fidelity UI design, user testing/validation and UI development handoff. Especially, the person has the design implementation experience as opposed to just delivering a proof of concept (POC) design.An agile practitioner. The person has at least one product work experience in an agile environment. Mastery of collaborative design tools including Figma, Miro, etc.Total professional experience 10+ years.

The pay range for the role is $120,000 to $190,000. The specific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills and other factors.
