We are currently seeking talented individuals for our Leadperson position!

Here is some of what you’ll do…

POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Service Manager, the Leadperson diagnoses the causes of equipment failures, performs the necessary repairs within the time limits established, and provides guidance and on-the-job training for technicians and technician trainees. The Leadperson requires work to be completed within 100% or less of any flat rate times that are established as targets by HPC. Besides performing mechanical repair as directed, the Leadperson trains lesser skilled personnel.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Repairs equipment as directed by the O'ahu Product Support Manager and as described in the work order.Supervises, instructs, trains, and assists technicians in accordance with their respective abilities.Organizes and establishes priorities on the work to be performed and assigns the work to technicians in accordance with their respective abilities.Performs diagnostic tests to determine the cause of failure.Adheres to parts reusability guidelines.Ensures that all technicians prepare their timecards, service reports, and other paperwork legibly and accurately.Orders parts and assists technicians in ordering parts in the best interest of HPC and the customer, ensuring all parts that are not used are returned to the Parts Department for credit.Inspects all repairs in progress and upon completion to ensure that they have been performed correctly.Performs warranty jobs on a priority basis and ensures the service reports contain all of the information necessary for filing a warranty claim.Ensures that tools are not abused, are used correctly and for their specific purpose, and are returned to the tool room when not in use.Adheres strictly to HPC safety, housekeeping, credit, and other policies and procedures.Maintains a favorable business relationship with customers, suppliers, and personnel from other departments.Keeps the Service Manager updated on all matters of managerial importance.Performs additional duties as assigned. Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.Must have 7 years working experience in the repair and maintenance of heavy equipment.Must have a valid Drivers License with a good driving record.Must have PC skills.Must have the ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing.Must have good organizational skills, problem-solving abilities, time management skills, and initiative.Must have the flexibility and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Must have the ability to work independently and as a member of a team.Must have the ability to communicate technical information as related to environmental permitting, electrical performance, and mechanical system installation and operation.Must be forklift certified or able to be certified within 60 days.Must own hand tools that are suitable to perform the work noted above.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Walking: Moves about on foot, often through uneven terrain.Hands/arms: Operates equipment and hand and power tools.Handling: Seizes, helps, or works with hands.Lifting: Raises or lowers miscellaneous equipment parts and tools.Reaching: Extends hands and arms in any direction.Stooping: Bends body downward and forward by bending at knees or waist.Standing: Remains in standing position if required to perform various functions of the job.Climbing: In and out of equipment.Raising/Lowering: goes up and down in man lifts.Vision: Reads work tickets and parts and service books and operates heavy equipment.Talking: Communicates by radio, phone, and in person.Hearing: Hears well enough to discern mechanical problems for safety in and around shop and construction sites and to receive communication by radio, phone, and in person.Sitting: Sits in equipment and vehicles for extended periods.Laying: Lies in prone position under vehicles and equipment for extended periods.Lifting: Lifts up to 60lbs. daily, frequent exertion.

 

ENVIRONMENTAL:          

Noise: Works in conditions with constant or intermittent noise.Temp/Weather: Works outside and in shop with variations of temperature and weather.Exposure: Subject to foul odors, fumes, and harsh substances.
