Job Description
SUMMARY:
The Lean Continuous Improvement Summer Intern will support the CI Manager in identifying, analyzing, and implementing lean initiatives that drive operational efficiencies across various departments. This hands-on internship offers an excellent opportunity to learn and apply lean methodologies in a real-world setting. You will work closely with mentors and cross-functional teams to improve processes, eliminate waste, and enhance overall productivity.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in mapping current processes and identifying areas for improvement using lean tools such as value stream mapping, 5S, and Kaizen.
Conduct root-cause analyses and contribute to problem-solving sessions to reduce process inefficiencies.
Support the implementation of lean projects by collecting data, preparing reports, and creating visual management tools.
Help standardize processes and document improvements, ensuring sustainability of changes.
Collaborate with team members to identify and eliminate waste within workflows and increase productivity.
Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders at various stages of the improvement process.
LEANING OPPORTUNITIES:
Gain hands-on experience with lean methodologies and continuous improvement tools.
Develop project management and data analysis skills.
Improve presentation and communication skills through regular updates and project presentations.
Exposure to cross-functional collaboration and team-based problem-solving.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or a related field.
Basic knowledge of lean principles and continuous improvement tools.
Strong analytical skills and an aptitude for problem-solving.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); familiarity with data analysis software is a plus.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment.
Detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to learn.
