About the role:

This role contributes to create and sustain Lean and continuous improvement culture in the Convatec Michalovce plant in line with Global CI culture. Job holder is accountable for delivering productivity and other improvement initiatives to all processes.

Lean Coordinator leads team of CI engineers and staff and works with all relevant functions. The job holder is expected to spend at least 80 percent of the working time in manufacturing area.

This role is critical in leadership, coordination and support of implementation of new initiatives in area of manufacturing excellence such as automatic data collection, TPM etc.

Your key duties and responsibilities:

Communicating and championing the vision and lean culture and manufacturing excellence culture at the plant. Providing support to ConvaTec Slovakia LT team in lean culture.Directing and driving the plants Lean Manufacturing resources to maximize their potential and benefit to the organization.Executing and implementing the plants Lean & productivity initiatives including but not limited to VSM, 5S, norms measuring.Seeking and developing a pipeline of improvement opportunities and looking at things from “outside the square”.Management and coordination of the plants ‘CI hopper list’ (in Wave) to ensure progress and completion.Building essential partnerships with the finance community to track financial benefits of improvements.Building essential partnership with global CI team, searching for potential benchmark opportunities.Coaching and mentoring and influencing plant personnel (e.g. supervisors, operators, technicians, engineers) in line with ConvaTec lean culture.Securing regular reviewing of OEE data collection and analysis and providing feedback to manufacturing.Delivering training in Lean tools and techniques and providing local expert knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma principles.Contributing to key ‘roadmap’ projects to deliver identified benefit to the network.Reporting Lean activities on regular basis in selected plants and global performance meetings.Monitoring sustainability of productivity installation and raise / resolve issues as they arise.To ensure compliance with the legislative and internal requirements of the EHS and to participate in the fulfillment of the company's targets in the EHS area.

Competencies:

Ability to develop partnerships both internally within the organization and externally with suppliers, contractors to deliver expected results.Thorough understanding of EHS and Regulatory Compliance.Thorough knowledge of manufacturing processes.

Skills & Experience:

3+ years of experience in implementing Lean manufacturing methodologies.Proven experience in managing multiple simultaneous improvement projects and project teams.Solid knowledge and experience in operations, manufacturing, supply chain or engineering are essential.Proficient with PC programs i.e. Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), Statistical tools like Minitab or Jump, Project Management (Microsoft Project, etc.)

Qualifications/Education:

Bachelor, Master or advanced degree preferred in Technical/ Engineering or Quality ManagementTheoretical & practical application of Lean PrinciplesSix Sigma Green Belt (preferred)

Preferred Training Requirements:

Introduction training for administrative employees.Quality System documents and procedures relevant to all employees (local and Convatec corporate e.g. Code of Ethics and Business Conduct, Quality Policy, Complaints, relevant GxP documents), including regular re-training when required.Quality System documents and procedures relevant to job performance.Quality System documents and procedures relevant to training and education of personnel (local).Quality System documents and procedures relevant to validation process, change management.

Travel Requirements:

Yes – Minimal as required for business needs (International & Domestic).

Working Conditions:

Office based position with home office possibilities based on the local home office policy.Flexible working hours.The role requires flexibility to work with production centers / in manufacturing area (at least 80% of working time).
