This role requires a strong understanding of Lean methodologies, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams to achieve sustainable improvements. The Lean Manager will be a key contributor to the company’s operational excellence initiatives and long-term competitiveness.
Purpose of The Role Provide Lean expertise and guidance through focused and sustainable value stream transformation to enable cross-functional collaboration and standard processes sharing and implementation. Handle and implement projects and initiatives that elevate the performance of Hey Dude manufacturing vendors in both productivity and product execution. Elevate the competitiveness of Hey Dude supply base by identifying best in industry tools, processes and systems. Develop a culture of continuous improvement at Hey Dude vendors and within the Hey Dude organization. Provide continuous coaching and knowledge sharing of Lean Management to identify development opportunities. Working collaboratively with the Costing team to create a Product Complexity Framework based on Hey Dude product standards and expectations. Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for any new processes during the product creation process and future costing standardization projects. What You'll DoLean Methodology Implementation:
Lead the implementation of Lean principles, tools, and techniques (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Six Sigma) to optimize workflows and eliminate waste. Develop and implement Lean transformation strategies to drive operational excellence across the organization and Hey Dude vendors.Process Improvement:
Analyze existing processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement in collaboration with the functional teams. Design and implement new workflows, procedures, and processes that increase efficiency, reduce cycle times, and enhance product quality. Ensure that process improvements are sustained and continuously evaluated for further enhancements.Data Analysis & Problem-Solving:
Collect and analyze data to assess the effectiveness of improvement initiatives. Apply root cause analysis, problem-solving techniques, and statistical tools to address operational challenges and ensure sustainable improvements. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track progress and success of Lean initiatives.Project Management:
Lead and manage Lean projects from conception through to completion, ensuring timelines, budgets, and objectives are met. Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, product execution, tooling, material, and costing, to ensure successful implementation of Lean initiatives. Facilitate project meetings, report progress to stakeholders, and provide regular updates on project status.Training & Coaching:
Provide Lean training and coaching to Hey Dude vendors and internal team members at all levels of the organization, ensuring the principles and practices of Lean are understood and adopted.Change Management:
Drive cultural change with Hey Dude vendors and within Hey Dude organization by promoting Lean thinking and behaviors. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages innovation, creativity, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Act as a change agent to overcome resistance and ensure alignment with the company’s Lean transformation objectives.Sustainability & Compliance:
Ensure that Lean practices align with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards (safety first – zero harms concept). Regularly review processes to ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.Reporting & Documentation:
Prepare and present detailed reports on Lean initiatives, process improvements, and cost savings to senior management. Document all improvements and establish best practices to share out and be used as benchmarks for future projects. Establish and maintain efficient communication channels, both locally and globally.Cost Reduction & Efficiency Gains:
Identify cost-saving opportunities by streamlining operations, improving resource utilization, and reducing non-value-added activities. Collaborate with costing and other departments to quantify the financial benefits of Lean initiatives.Continuous Improvement Culture:
Promote a continuous improvement approach throughout the organization within Hey Dude and at Hey Dude vendors, encouraging employees at all levels to actively participate in identifying and implementing improvement ideas. Ensure that continuous improvement becomes an integral part of the company’s operations and long-term strategy. What You'll Bring to the TableEducation & Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in industrial engineering or related subject area preferred. 3 –5 proven experience in Lean/6 Sigma implementation in footwear industry. Training/Certification in Lean Manufacturing and 6 Sigma tools.Skills & Competencies:
Expert knowledge and experience in Lean 6 Sigma practices and training techniques. Strong communication and social skills with all levels of business, fluent in both English and Mandarin. Ability to challenge the status quo and always strive to elevate processes and tools. Good knowledge of the industry’s future outlook. Self-directed and comfortable working in ambiguous environments. Matured personality with effective interpersonal and strong leadership skills. Result-driven, with strong logical thinking and analysis skills. Capable of handling multiple projects independently at the same time Additional Requirement Experienced in change management, project management, and financial management. Experienced in financial project cost savings analysis. Sophisticated PC skills, including training and knowledge of relevant software packages. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
