The company has three manufacturing sites and research and development offices in Penang, producing automotive electronics, power tools and steering systems, and now a fourth plant with a final testing center for sensors and semiconductors.

PgP5 Plant is Bosch Group’s newest expansion in Malaysia a semiconductor test site in Batu Kawan Penang. The construction has begun in May 2021 and first series of production to commence in 2023. With the long-term forecasts for growth of semiconductor component quantities, coupled with the front-end production in Bosch’s Dresden facility in Germany, capacity expansion is required for the back-end production, which is the final testing phase of semiconductors and sensors. PgP5 will primarily focus on the final testing of components manufactured at Bosch Automotive Electronics’ fab in Dresden, Germany. The plant will also house R&D and training facilities.

Job DescriptionResponsible to ensure smooth running of Bosch Production System (BPS) activities to be in line with company goals and objectives at the Value Stream area, which covers coordination, planning, implementation, effectiveness and aligned with plant BPS Vision, Mission direction and BPS Road Map deployment.Responsible for production line layout as per PGL concept and improvement of the line productivity and working towards improving utilization rate of the machines.To ensure correct application of all relevant company guidelines for production and output determination according to PGL/BPS/Lean ConceptsAble to support workshops for Value Stream Planning (VSP)/System CIP Projects and regular/annual BPS assessment of the maturity level.To be responsible for production line layout and improvement of the line productivity of the employees and utilization rate of the machines.To be responsible for Root cause analysis and Problem solving in close cooperation with production and manufacturing teams.To initiate technical, organizational and changeover improvements and implement them with production associated with an improvement plan.To be responsible for Lean manufacturing activities incl. leading continuous improvement projects, moderate/support workshops.To execute any other related duties assigned by immediate supervisor from time to time with compliance related company, central and legal requirements.

QualificationsMinimum 5 years working experience in the semiconductor industry, preferable at least 3 years of related field of process improvements and lean production.At least a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering.Possess strong communication skills (both verbal & written) and moderate meetings/workshops with all levels and departments.Candidates must be proactive with ability to work in a team and with positive attitude.Good listener with negotiation skillsAble to perform manufacturing and economic analysis (facts and figures)Possess business, commercial and technical skills with Lean Manufacturing Concept is a must.Candidate must be an accurate person with detailed and results oriented.Able to instruct and deal in shopfloor with clear set of logical standards and systematically follow them.Able to determine cost saving and quality improvement potential in his/her area with focus on company vision, mission, strategy and goals (SQCD)Open for business trip and able to travel as needed.
