Job Title: Lean Process Leader
Salary: £52,380 + Dependent Upon Experience
Location: Peterborough, Cambridgeshire

Job Summary
Reporting to the Lean Process Engineering Manager within component engineering, a great career opportunity has arisen for a Lean Process leader.
The Lean Process leader is instrumental in the component engineering lean journey in helping to drive a team culture focused on continuous improvement and developing team competency in Lean thinking, problem solving, project and change management throughout the global component engineering group. With strong communication skills and a focus on lean methodologies, you will lead wider engineering and cross functional projects collaborating with component engineering globally and with our process partners.
This role will provide you with the ability to further build your lean leadership and project management skills with the opportunity to become Six Sigma Blackbelt trained (if required). The skills and experience that will be gained through this role will help equip you for progression into future managerial positions.
The Component Engineering function, with teams in the UK, China and India have design control responsibility for base engine, air, and fuel systems and aftertreatment across the 1.1 to 7.1 litre engine range.
Responsibilities span development of new technology and concepts, through detail design and validation, resulting in production release to meet regulatory and customer requirements. Technical support, information and expertise also extends in production and throughout the product life. The delivery of this remit requires collaboration across almost all engineering, manufacturing, supplier management and customer supporting departments, as well as a global supply base.

This role at the start will be 100% on site based in Peterborough, moving to hybrid a minimum of 3 days per week in the office.
No global travel associated with this role.
Interviews to commence early January.
What You Will Do
Lead wider engineering and cross functional lean improvement projects
Identifying and delivering lean process improvements
PowerBi dashboard development and support
Collaborate and communicate with component engineering globally and process partners to continuously improve
Provide lean leadership support within component engineering including helping to develop team competency in Lean thinking and problem solving
Help create a team culture focussed on continuous improvement

Experience in developing Performance Dashboards (e.g. using PowerBi) or willingness to learn
Proficient use of Microsoft Office
Candidates may have gained the following skills and experience through previous roles:
Accredited engineering (or a closely related technical) degree or equivalent business experience
Six Sigma Green Belt certification
Demonstrated ability to lead others, through the use of coaching and influencing
