We are seeking a Learning and Development Senior Specialist at our Huntsville Manufacturing plant, where we machine component parts and assemble the International S13 Powertrain to support our Heavy-Duty Truck assembly plant. The Learning and Development Senior Specialist reports to the site P&L Way Manager and will lead the Learning & Development strategy and execution at the site. This role partners with subject matter experts to develop and execute training for various functions and position levels including hourly team members in assembly, machining, maintenance, materials, quality, safety, administrative and leadership roles.
Please note that our Huntsville site works 10 hour days, Monday through Thursday.
Responsibilities• Organize, develop, and source training programs to meet specific training needs for all departments and levels at the site
• Design, implement and support performance and talent development processes and systems
• Develop and administer training with people leaders and subject matter experts, including scheduling, location, date/time, materials, attendance, and records.
• Identify training needs by evaluating strengths and weaknesses of existing training materials and business needs
• Identify gaps and needs to translate into training programs that will develop employees for the next step of their career path
• Utilize innovative approaches to training, including using various media
• Partner with corporate learning and development organization
• Develop training aids such as manuals and handbooks, single point lessons, signage
• Maintain training library content and SharePoint for the site
• Facilitate training programs using recognized training techniques and tools
• Facilitate and support learning through a variety of delivery methods including classroom instruction, virtual training, on-the-job coaching out on the shop floor
• Design and apply assessment tools to measure training effectiveness
• Track and report on training outcomes with a focus on continuous improvement
• Develop and report on KPIs for training and development, identify gaps and action plans
• Support segments of the new employee onboarding experience
• Maintain relationships and engage in programs with external training suppliers, local schools, STEM programs, internships, and community organizations
• Manage training budget as well as in-house training facilities and equipment
• Keep current on training design and methodology
• Support a manufacturing environment where production currently runs 6:30AM – 5:00PM

• Experience with instructional design, project management, implementation, evaluation and measurement
• Experience in a manufacturing environment; lean manufacturing knowledge a plus
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of education methodologies, adult learning principles, and teaching techniques
• Strong presentation, classroom facilitation, and analytical skills with a passion for improving employee performance and learning
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook), learning management systems, and on-line learning tools
• Certification such as ASTD (American Society for Training and Development) is a plus
