Leased Facility Ops Support Engineer
Description: Team: Facility Maint & Ops - Leased Description: This role will support and report to the leased facility technical team. A highly motivated, self-starter with a proven technical skillset focused in electrical engineering, data center operations, and/or controls is required. Perform routine maintenance tasks in accordance with Client Safety Policy and Procedures. Regularly inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning conditions. Troubleshoot, evaluate and recommend system upgrades. Order parts and supplies for maintenance and repairs. Create, review, and implement site specific MPs and SOPs. 50 FacOps (Facility Ops) Assets/MW, asset tagged and bulk "received" in inventory/SeRF and CMMS to include certain key Landlord assets (i.e. MSBs, SBs, UPS, and PDUs) for maintenance/impact coordination. Responsibilities: Serve as an onsite technical resource of electrical infrastructure systems and equipment, with an emphasis on practical field operation Ensure appropriate cross-functional collaboration between local electrical team and applicable local and global teams Contribute to electrical safety program for site Plan resource, author or approve work procedures to cover electrical troubleshooting, repair, retrofit, and maintenance activities, with an emphasis on assessing & mitigating personnel and critical systems and operational risk Conduct or oversee hands-on troubleshooting, repair, retrofit, and maintenance of electrical equipment Oversee electrical system configurations and component upgrades to ensure system integrity is maintained and that all modifications to existing systems are in compliance with best practices, including change control processes Provide Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QAQC) oversight of construction projects & maintenance activity Lead and/or participate in root-cause analysis activities in area of expertise Provide training to Critical Facility Engineers and other cross functional teams on electrical equipment, systems, procedures, and changes Manage vendor relationships for electrical maintenance and retrofit work Provide feedback on global electrical maintenance strategies and global electrical system design improvements Must-Have Skills: Strong Mech/EE Background, with: Project Management Skills Design and procedure reviews (blueprints, work auth, SOPs) NFPA 70e compliance work Data center exp – specifically infrastructure engineering (power, controls and cooling up to and including the busways that power the racks) 4+ years’ experience in a datacenter or other critical environment Nice-to-Have Skills: Work Authorization Forms Safety Reviews Day-to-Day Responsibilities: Landlord & XFN Coordination Liaison between Client and the Landlord’s operations teams. Escalate issues to facility management as needed. Host weekly and monthly coordination meetings with the Landlord and resolve conflicts. Ensure the Landlord is performing contractually mandated maintenance and maintaining power and environmental SLA requirements. Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with internal clients. Project Oversight & Coordination Solicit proposals for small projects and Landlord sourced work. Work with vendors and contractors to ensure their work meets Client standards. Project management (small projects) Perform Construction oversight, equipment inspections, commissioning support Team, People & Training Participate internal Team meetings Complete mandatory Client and role specific training Conduct site FIR/TI review and applicability and standard implementation. Participate and complete monthly PIAGs and quarterly Drills.
