Eastaway Property Management is seeking a Leasing and Tenant Relations Specialist for a large multifamily Section 8 property located in Manhattan, New York. This position will provide resident services support, including processing move-ins from the NYCHA wait list, prequalifying income and conduct pre-screening requirements for applicants.  

Responsibilities Applicant Prequalification & Leasing:Prequalify income and conduct screening of applicant referrals for unit vacancies.Handle all inquiries and collaborate with respective agencies to process wait list  requests.Prepare lease agreements and ensure they are signed by prospective residents.Submit signed leases online to NYCHA in a timely and accurate manner.

 

Rent Determination & Lease Adjustments:Enter lease charge adjustments in Yardi based on rent determinations.

 

Resident Outreach & Assistance:Conduct outreach and assist residents with annual and interim recertification submissions to NYCHA.Inform residents about rental arrears and guide them toward available resources for assistance.

 

Recordkeeping & Reporting:Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for internal and external reporting requirements.

 

Resident Support & Coordination:Assist residents with additional requests required by NYCHA and/or property management.Serve as a liaison between residents and NYCHA to ensure a smooth move in process with positive communication and resolution of issues.

 

Additional Responsibilities:Perform other duties as assigned or needed to support the property management team. Handling administrative duties like filing, organizing documents, and managing correspondence. Assisting in preparing reports and maintaining accurate records. Supporting event planning and execution for tenant and community events. Qualifications A minimum of two years of experience in affordable multi-family leasing or compliance.Strong knowledge of Section 8 rent determination policies and procedures.Experience with Yardi software and the ability to accurately enter lease charges.Ability to excel in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with high attention to detail.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel.Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) proficiency is a plus but not mandatory.High School Diploma or equivalent required.

 

Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.    


For New York, NY this ranges from $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 plus benefits and retirement program.
