Leave Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Benefits Team at Milliman, Global Corporate Services (GCS) is looking to hire a Leave Analyst. The Leave Analyst is responsible for analyzing and interpreting federal, state, and local leave laws to ensure compliance across the United States. This role supports employees at all organizational levels, ensuring regulatory adherence in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

PLEASE NOTE: We are seeking candidates who can work in Pacific Time Zone (PST) 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Serve as a liaison between employees and the external leave administrator, guiding employees through leave processes, documentation, and return-to-work procedures with professional and supportive communication. Provide employees with clear, supportive guidance on navigating leave policies, addressing concerns as they arise. Partner closely with our third-party administrator, The Hartford, to facilitate efficient leave management. Join weekly calls with The Hartford to review current cases, share updates, and discuss potential areas for improvement. Monitor cases to identify any potential concerns or process gaps early on and escalate issues to relevant stakeholders when necessary. Collaborate with HR Business Partners and other internal teams to ensure any identified concerns are promptly addressed. Responsible for calculating semi-monthly leave payment calculations for employees on leave, and payroll reconciliation upon their return. Partner with the Leave SME on complex leave and ADA matters to address regulatory leave, company leave, personal leave, and reasonable accommodations. Maintain accurate employee leave records and documentation, ensuring adherence to all regulatory and organizational standards. Responsible for processing benefits continuation, life insurance, LTD claims, assisting beneficiaries for employees on leave. Possess a strong knowledge of state disability, paid family leave, and short- and long-term disability policies. Work with the Leave team to streamline leave administration processes, suggesting and implementing improvements based on feedback from weekly calls and employee interactions. Create job aids, conduct cross-training sessions, and generate ad hoc reports as requested.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

The ideal candidate must have minimum 2 years of experience in national leave administration. The ideal candidate must have minimum 1 year of experience in payroll operations with a focus on leave payment calculations. Must have knowledge of Federal/State leave laws (FMLA, CFRA, PDL, SDI). Must have experience in payroll systems, data analysis, Microsoft Word and Excel. Must have strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey decisions tactfully. Must have organizational skills to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:

Experience with UKG, Alight, and Hartford systems.

LOCATION:

This is a remote role. This job posting is expected to close on March 31st, 2025

COMPENSATION:

The salary range for this role is $51,000 - $98,000, depending on a combination of factors, including, but not limited to, education, relevant work experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, location, etc.
