THE POSITION

The Leave of Absence Manager is responsible for leading the Leave of Absence (LOA) Team in delivering efficient and compliant leave programs, with a strong emphasis on employee experience and enhancing processes.  This role will also oversee workers’ compensation claims and be integral in shaping the company's leave management strategy by leading a high-performing team, driving process improvements, and ensuring compliance with leave laws. Additionally, the LOA Manager acts as a trusted advisor for complex leave cases, partnering with leadership and HR to deliver tailored solutions that support both employees and organizational goals.

THE GAME PLAN

Responsible for leading the administration of a variety of leave benefit programs such as Family Medical Leave (FMLA), Americans with Disabilities (ADA), Short-and Long-term disability, state and local leaves, and other FanDuel internal leave programs such as paid parental leave. Lead and mentor the LOA team by fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. Set clear performance goals, provide regular feedback, and ensure the delivery of exceptional support and service. Assess and refine LOA workflows to improve efficiency, accuracy, and employee experience. Manage the entire worker's compensation claims process from initial reporting to resolution. This includes documenting incidents, filing claims with insurance carriers, and monitoring claim status. Coordinate and complete workers’ compensation reporting and audits as well as applicable monopolistic state reporting requirements Partner with internal stakeholders (e.g., HR, payroll, legal) to identify and implement technology solutions and best practices. Track and analyze key performance metrics, using data insights to drive process enhancements. Act as the subject matter expert for LOA-related compliance inquiries and policy updates. Oversee and manage complex or sensitive leave cases, including executive-level or escalated situations. Provide expert guidance on accommodations, return-to-work plans, and challenging scenarios. Serve as the primary point of contact for external vendors managing LOA administration. Other duties as a required

5+ years of experience in benefits administration with focus on leave of absence administration 2+ years of experience in workers’ compensation administration 2+ years of experience in a leadership role Strong knowledge in benefits compliance, specifically federal, state and local leave laws Expertise in coordinating and administering leave programs such as, FMLA, Military Leave, Short-and Long-term disability, state/local programs including CA, NY and NJ. Proven ability to manage high-profile or complex cases with discretion and professionalism. Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Able to think outside the box to improve processes Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks, work with large amounts of data and meet all deadlines Proficient with Excel or related software

The applicable salary range for this position is $104,000 - $143,000 USD, which is dependent on a variety of factors including relevant experience, location, business needs and market demand. This role may offer the following benefits: medical, vision, and dental insurance; life insurance; disability insurance; a 401(k) matching program; among other employee benefits. This role may also be eligible for short-term or long-term incentive compensation, including, but not limited to, cash bonuses and stock program participation. This role includes paid personal time off and 14 paid company holidays. FanDuel offers paid sick time in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws.
