The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Maryland College Park invites applications for a full time Lecturer with a primary emphasis in undergraduate physical chemistry laboratory education The departmental undergraduate program is responsible for the chemical and biochemical instruction of more than 6000 students annually The successful candidates main assignments will be overall responsibility for two physical chemistry laboratory courses with additional teaching responsibilities in related areas such as general chemistry each term The former will involve coordinating and teaching the laboratory content development technical support and the training and supervision of teaching assistants Additional responsibilities may include advising undergraduates participation in grant development and other instructional duties as required A PhD in Chemistry or closely related discipline and substantial experience with modern physical chemistry methods and measurements are required Expected start date is August 2021 This is a renewable non tenured position with a history of continuity Applicants should submit a cover letter curriculum vitae statement of teaching philosophy and contact information for three persons from whom letters of recommendation can be requested
