of Mathematics and Computer Science at Belmont University is seeking
applications for one or more one-year lecturer positions beginning August 1,
2021. Depending on performance and
university/department needs, the position(s) could be extended for additional
years.
Job
responsibilities
Twenty-four hours of undergraduate teaching per year
(typically four three-hour courses each semester) in mathematics and related
areas. Successful candidates will
demonstrate a commitment to and preparation for excellence in teaching
mathematics and related areas to undergraduates. Eighteen graduate-level credit hours in mathematics or a related
discipline is required; teaching experience preferred. As all Belmont
undergraduates complete an innovative general education program with
significant interdisciplinary components, Belmont University is preferably seeking
applicants who can demonstrate the interest and ability to teach
interdisciplinary and topical courses in this program. Create syllabus, timeline of classes, for students each semester. Provide meeting time for students. Manage online grading system and submit grades in a timely fashion.Abide by all relevant university and/or department procedures and policies.
