Posting Details Job Title Lecturer of Spanish (Non-Tenure Track) Department WORLD LANGUAGES & CULTURES Position Number F0443A Job Description The Department of World Languages & Cultures at Old Dominion University invites applicants for a Lecturer of Spanish to begin in Fall 2025. This is an annual 10-month, non-tenure-track appointment. The Lecturer will teach 12 credit hours of Spanish per semester (4:4 load), mostly at the 100 and 200 level with a possibility for teaching at the 300 and 400 level. Summer teaching is optional. Some service is also required, including committee work, curriculum development, and mentoring students through extra-curricular activities. While published research is not required in this position, an ongoing interest in and engagement with a field of expertise is expected for promotion. Preferred Qualifications + Ph.D. in Spanish. + Specialization in medical Spanish, translation and interpreting, and/or Spanish for heritage speakers. + Demonstrated ability to teach Spanish for students with accommodations. + Demonstrated ability to integrate technology into teaching and interest in online instruction.
