**FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT**
The mission of the Nursing Unit within the Department of Allied Health is consistent with the College’s mission to provide educational opportunities leading to socioeconomic mobility for students from diverse ethnic, racial, cultural and linguistic backgrounds, particularly Hispanics and African Americans. The Nursing programs provide educational opportunities for students seeking entry or mobility within a nursing career path as a licensed practical nurse and/or licensed professional nurse (RN-A.A.S.). The nursing programs serve as a resource for the promotion of health and wellness for the population of the South Bronx and surrounding communities. These programs adhere to the standards of Practice and Code of Ethics as set forth by Professional Nursing Organizations.
The Nursing Unit invites applications for a Lecturer position to teach courses, including clinicals, in the areas of RN and LPN.
Responsibilitites also include student advisement, committee participation, curriculum development, ad scholarly activities. Performs teaching and related faculty functions in area(s) of expertise. Shares responsibility for committee and department assignments including administrative, supervisory, and other functions.
Essential duties require on-campus presence.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
Bachelor's degree in area(s) of expertise, and the ability to teach successfully.
The following qualifications are preferred:
+ Earned Master's degree in area of expertise or equivalent
+ Licensed as an RN in any state of the United States for a minimum of two years with the understanding that they must have attained their New York State Licensure at the time of hire.
+ License in good standing in the state of New York
+ Experience with the integration of technology in teaching
+ Experience with online teaching and a demonstrated experience with online learning
+ Experience with curriculum and course development for a nursing program
+ Ability to communicate effectively with students for advisement and mentoring
+ Minimum of two years of teaching experience in Medical-Surgical Nursing, Pediatrics, and Mental Health Nursing
+ Experience teaching in an Associate's Degree Nursing Program and/or Practical Nursing Program
+ Experience with program assessment and accreditation coordination
+ Knowledgeable in the ACEN accreditation process
+ Availability to work evening and weekend hours
**COMPENSATION**
$74,575 - $81,466; salary commensurate with education and experience.
