Lecturer - Speech Communications (Revised 4/9/25) **FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT** The Speech program at Kingsborough Community College (KCC), in the Department of Communications & Performing Arts, invites applications for a full-time Lecturer position beginning in _Fall 2025_ . We seek an enthusiastic educator dedicated to excellence in teaching and capable of mentoring a diverse student population. The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise teaching Foundational Public Speaking and Communication courses to a diverse student population. **Responsibilities include** : + Teaching a variety of Speech Communication courses in both in person and online modalities. In person teaching is an expectation of this position, + Participating in departmental and college service activities, such as committee work, student advising, and curricular development. + Maintaining an on-campus presence for classroom instruction. **Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.** **QUALIFICATIONS** **Required Qualifications** + A Bachelor’s degree in Speech Communication or a related field. + Significant experience teaching introductory public speaking courses in an urban community college setting + Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to guide and mentor a diverse student body in both classroom and lab settings. **Preferred Qualifications** + Experience teaching and mentoring ESL students. + Experience teaching in learning communities. + Evidence of successful teaching in both in person and online modalities. + Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (e.g., Brightspace) and Microsoft Office 365 **COMPENSATION** $69,983 - $79,170. Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
