Legacy Data Specialist (m/f/d) at Allianz SE Reinsurance Munich

 

Job Purpose/ Role
Allianz Re is a division of Allianz SE within the H9 Resort with offices in Munich, Singapore, Dublin and Zurich. Allianz Re offers reinsurance solutions and services for Allianz internal operating entities (OEs) and reinsurance protection to external insurance companies and is the Group’s reinsurance vehicle which actively manages risk and capital. Our range of activities include reinsurance, capital management, run-off, cat risk management and risk data analytics. The posted position is based in Munich and reporting to the Head of Legacy. 

Based at Allianz Re in Munich, the role is focused on (i) providing the data basis for activities of the Legacy team in coordination with Allianz Re, OEs and external reinsurers, (ii) identifying potential simplification and finality solutions together with the Legacy team, (iii) working with a multi-disciplinary team of reinsurance, actuarial and claims experts.        


Key responsibilities

Support OE data extraction and preparation, incl. OE on-site visits from time to time to support and speed up process Maintain and update a legacy-specific database containing OE data Perform updates from Allianz Re proprietary databases (e.g. MIS reports, IMAP bookings) for legacy-specific analyses and valuation tools Work with the Legacy team on data reconciliation with OEs, Allianz Re and external reinsurers Analyze data and support due diligence processes Collaborate closely with experts inside the team as well as with other Allianz Re functions (e.g. data, finance, actuarial and claims) and external reinsurers Support transactors in dealing with cedents, reinsurers and intermediaries throughout the entire legacy transaction process        


Qualifications

University degree (master or equivalent) in mathematics, statistics, science, economics or similar subject Additional qualifications (actuarial or similar) or accreditations Fluent in English and ideally one other language (preferably German) are an advantage


Experience & Key skills

Work experience in data management, actuarial or financial reporting role in (re)insurance (>5 years) Experienced in both accepted and ceded reinsurance, in different companies/OEs, and/or abroad is a plus     Knowledge in actuarial and quantitative methods / tools Good reinsurance knowhow incl. reinsurance design, contract structures, valuation and pricing, across different markets and lines of business Good business understanding and judgement Good understanding of (re)insurance accounting, financial statements and risk capital frameworks Proven ability to extract and analyze large amounts of data working with different proprietary data source systems (SAS, SICS, etc) Solid experience in creating/managing databases using different proprietary models (MS Access, SQL, Oracle) Strong analytical mindset (able to identify data issues/inconsistencies, to find solutions to complex problems) and high attention to details Good result orientation, strong proactivity and willingness to innovate and improve Strong team player, able to collaborate across a global organization, across functions and cultures; willing to learn and share your expertise with others Capable to communicate complex results and abstract concepts in a language that is adapted to the relevant audience Good MS-Office skills and excellent MS-Excel skills including VBA
