Legacy Interface Platform QA Engineer

Responsibilities include developing, modifying, and executing software test plans; analyzing and writing test standards and procedures; maintaining documentation of test results to assist in debugging and modifying software; and analyzing test results to ensure functionality and recommending corrective action. 

 

Required:

Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Systems, Software, Electrical or Communications or equivalent Experience and knowledge of programming languages (preferably scripting languages such as TCL, Python, Perl, shell) A drive towards best practices and the best quality possible Strong attention to detail 

Preferred:

Knowledge and hands-on experience using source control software (e.g. GIT) Familiarity with networking test tools (IXIA, Spirent, IPerf, Wireshark, etc.) Knowledge of legacy interface technologies like T1/E1, C37.94, Serial (RS232/RS485/RS422) Knowledge of Ethernet and optical transceivers

As part of the team, you will:

Take in charge the qualification of new adapters supporting legacy interfaces like T1/E1, C37.94, Serial (RS232/RS485/RS422) and features like CESoPSN, ADC, T1/E1 EPS protection Plan regression testbeds and the gear needed to execute the test plan Develop and enhance automated test cases in a Linux-based regression environment Troubleshoot issues and work closely with the functional area developers from the software and hardware teams to investigate and resolve bugs Apply the industry's best practices in software development, configuration management and quality assurance design and automation
