Legal, Asset Management - BDC Attorney, Vice President

Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM) is looking for an attorney with asset management experience including Investment Company Act expertise related to business development companies, closed end funds and interval funds and related investment advisory matters. The role will be within the Asset and Wealth (AWM) legal team and will focus on the regulation, establishment, management, governance, distribution and marketing of business development companies, closed end funds and interval funds which invest in securities generally in the private credit markets and other alternative asset classes.  The attorney will also support various portfolio management teams on executing transactions for its investment funds and related accounts. The attorney will also support various strategic initiatives related to the private and public markets investing businesses of GSAM. Primary responsibilities also involve identification of legal and reputational risks, liaising with independent boards of directors, managing external counsel and involvement with investment and related committees. The AWM legal team provides ongoing support with respect to other advisory, regulatory and asset management issues as well. Given the fundamental developments in regulations globally applicable to the firm's businesses and the markets that it operates, a key component of the role will also include contributing to the analysis of, and formulation of strategic responses to, shifting legal and regulatory frameworks. 

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:

Salary Range
The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $170000-$270000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
