Structure Investment Legal sits in the Global Banking & Markets Legal group and provides legal support to the Private Investor Product Group (“PIPG”) business within the Goldman Sachs’ Equities business, covering structured products across a broad range of asset classes. The legal team advises the PIPG business on a spectrum of retail and institutional structured products transactions including transaction structuring, negotiation of deal documentation and regulatory considerations. The role offers exposure to a fast-pasted trading and structuring environment, providing legal support over the full product lifecycle - from development and documentation, to issue resolution and redemption.
YOUR IMPACT
Birmingham based lawyer within the legal division supporting the PIPG business.Advising on a range of retail and institutional structured products retail offerings and private placement transactions in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and other non-US jurisdictions.Working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure transactions are executed in line with legal and regulatory requirements while helping the business achieve its business objectives.Involvement in the implementation of regulatory initiatives, for example with respect to consumer rights and investor protection, and other regulations that affect the PIPG business.SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Newly-Qualified / Junior Lawyer qualified to practice in England and Wales or an EU jurisdiction.Interested in banking or finance (e.g. capital markets, structured products/derivatives, and/or regulatory) Able to adapt to changing circumstances and work in new areas outside of his/her comfort zone.A quick learner and a critical thinker able to work in a fast-paced environment.Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and meet tight deadlines. Confident drafting and reviewing legal agreements, with strong attention to detail.A strong communicator and relationship builder with a collaborative and team-oriented mindset and a willingness to learn and take initiative. Commercially aware and solutions-focused, with an appreciation of business drivers behind legal advice.Previous in-house experience (including on secondment) is helpful.
