We’re recruiting for a Legal professional to join our Goods for Resale (GFR) Legal team helping manage the efficient delivery of high-quality, commercially orientated legal advice & support to our global Sourcing functions & buying offices.
What's the job? Confidently provide robust, commercially-orientated advice to Kingfisher’s GFR community in relation to vendor supply contracts/arrangements, vendor due diligence & compliance, disputes and claims management and other ancillary issues relating to quality, ranging and supply & logisticsQuickly and draft, review, negotiate and advise on a wide arrange of standard and non-standard, supply related agreements including for innovatively structured procurement of products, services and/or components as well as for wholesale and franchising arrangementsProvide legal support with respect to after-sales topics – including those related to the negotiation of standard supply terms and supply contract claims - to ensure product regulatory compliance and consumer safetyUndertake legal research into new areas of legal regulation, including sanctions, product safety and packaging regulations and legal technology/AIUphold and educate GFR stakeholders on Group Compliance initiatives and policies including in relation to data protection & information security, sanctioned countries and anti-bribery and corruption), with the support of the Compliance team
Draw on expert advice, support and guidance in applicable practice areas (commercial, competition and civil litigation), applying group and recognised legal standards and approaches where defined, to deliver high quality and consistent outcomes.
Ensure that legal risks in any situation or activity are identified, assessed and steps recommended to promptly mitigate risk, and facilitate escalation to relevant decision-makers illustrating the balance of legal risks against commercial objectives
What you'll bring England & Wales/commonwealth qualified lawyer with proven excellent technical knowledge of commercial law, competition law, civil litigation and regulatory law (PQE 1+)Training plus 1+ years practice at a national, city or international law firm, or in-housePrior in-house experience in a large multinational and/or within the retail sector advantageousPrevious experience dealing with competition law as well as high value commercial contracts would be an advantageLitigation and/or regulatory experience (including the ability to navigate any regulatory compliance issues) would be an advantageStrong drafting capabilities (including for swiftly redlining and adapting/updating existing templates, as well as custom-drafting for creation of new templates) and capability to devise new templates and update related negotiation waterfallsBe Customer Focused – constantly improving our customers’ experienceI listen to my customersI use available data to help make decisionsBe Human – acting with humanity and careI do the right thingI am respectfulBe Curious – thrive on learning, thinking beyond the obvious
