Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated Legal and Compliance Manager to centralize and oversee our legal processes, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. This role involves managing legal agreements, compliance frameworks, and business continuity plans.
Key Responsibilities:
Legal Agreements: Draft, review, and finalize various commercial agreements, including service level agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and management contracts, in consultation with relevant team members and legal teams.External Agreements: Review and provide feedback on external commercial agreements received from clients and suppliers.Acquisitions and Due Diligence: Assist in the compilation and review of acquisition and due diligence documentation.Trademark Management: Oversee the management of company trademark registrations in consultation with the IP team and lawyers.Compliance Framework: Establish, implement, and maintain a regulatory compliance management framework in line with risk management and group requirements.Data Protection: Ensure compliance with data protection laws, including POPIA and GDPR, in collaboration with the Privacy team.Training and Culture: Train employees on compliance policies and legislation, fostering a culture of compliance across privacy, security, and risk.Business Continuity: Manage the Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity processes, ensuring regular updates and testing.Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, or a related field.Experience: Proven experience in legal and compliance roles, preferably within a corporate environment.Knowledge: Strong understanding of commercial agreements, data protection laws, and regulatory compliance frameworks.Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in legal documentation and compliance processes.Team Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively with various departments and external legal teams.Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to address compliance-related queries effectively.Adaptability: Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing legal and regulatory environments.Work in a way that works for you
