Legal Assistant
Description We are in the process of recruiting a Legal Assistant to join our team in the legal industry, based in Buffalo, New York. The role will require the incumbent to handle various responsibilities, including managing customer applications and maintaining accurate records. This role will also require frequent interaction with customers to resolve their inquiries and monitor their accounts. Responsibilities: • Managing and processing legal documents with a focus on accuracy and efficiency. • Utilizing Case Management Software to maintain detailed and accurate customer credit records. • Handling customer inquiries, ensuring a high level of customer service and satisfaction. • Monitoring the status of customer accounts and taking necessary action when needed. • Scheduling and filing motions as part of the medical malpractice work. • Handling dictation tasks efficiently. • Managing the front desk duties, including answering phones and attending to visitors. • Handling mail intake and ensuring all incoming documents are properly recorded and processed. • Ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of e-Filing processes. • Managing the calendar, including scheduling and rescheduling appointments and meetings. • Handling the scanning process, ensuring all paper files are digitally recorded and stored for easy access. Requirements • Proficient in Case Management Software to effectively manage and organize case files and legal documents • Experienced in Calendar Management, capable of scheduling and tracking court dates, appointments, and meetings • Knowledgeable in Legal Malpractice, able to identify and prevent potential legal malpractice issues • Skilled in Litigation, capable of assisting in the process of taking legal action • Expertise in Civil Litigation, familiar with the process and procedures in non-criminal law disputes • Experienced in handling Medical Malpractice cases, capable of managing case files, research and documentation • Proficient in e-Filing, able to electronically file court documents efficiently and correctly • Adept in Civil Litigation, with the ability to assist in the process of legal disputes between parties that seek money damages or specific performance rather than criminal sanctions.
