The Legal & Compliance department seeks a highly skilled and experienced mid-level compliance professional to support the complex and growing needs of the Blackstone Strategic Partners business unit. Strategic Partners is Blackstone’s dedicated secondary and GP stakes investment platform, with professionals located in New York, London, San Francisco, Paris, Los Angeles, Singapore and Nashville. Strategic Partners is an innovative and premier secondary and GP stakes investor with broad transaction capabilities on a global scale with a focus on private equity secondaries, infrastructure secondaries, real estate secondaries, GP-led secondaries and GP stakes investments. This individual will play a key role in advising on regulatory and compliance matters and should have deep expertise in private equity, fund management, and regulatory frameworks, with a proven ability to navigate complex compliance challenges involving unique deal structures and potential conflicts of interest. The position requires strategic thinking, strong communication skills, and effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Primary job responsibilities include the following:
Providing broad support to the Strategic Partners compliance program and interacting with key stakeholders across both the business unit and Blackstone Legal & Compliance more broadly
Assisting in all compliance and regulatory matters: SEC registration, ERISA, and federal, state and international securities laws (including the Investment Advisors Act of 1940, Investment Company Act of 1940, the Securities Act of 1933 and the Exchange Act of 1934)
Preparing regular reports to the investment team and senior management regarding compliance matters
Coordinating various SEC and foreign regulatory filings
Reviewing marketing and client materials, including pitchbooks, regular limited partner reporting, and due diligence materials
Working with other members of the compliance team to ensure that compliance documents, including Registered Investment Adviser Policies and Procedures, Form ADV Parts 1 and 2, and Form PF are current, and to identify and address areas where policies and procedures need to be developed or amended
Assisting with ongoing assessments, the annual 206(4)-7 compliance review, internal audit reviews and ongoing or ad hoc reviews
Working with in-house and external counsel to monitor, and then implement responses to, regulatory developments that impact the business
Working with the Blackstone central compliance team regarding firm-wide compliance issues and projects, as well as special compliance/internal audit-related projects as necessary
Assisting in the development of training materials
Qualifications:

6+ years’ directly related experience in a legal or compliance role in a private equity fund environment or a law firm private funds practice
Substantial knowledge of relevant rules and regulations and the day-to-day compliance affairs of private funds
An undergraduate degree is required, and a law degree is preferred
Exposure to a wide variety of transactions and sophisticated products
Effectively anticipates potential issues inherent in serving large, multi-dimensional client relationships
Demonstrated project management skills and accountability for delivery
Demonstrated ability to write effectively
Superior organizational skills
Strong communication skills; presentation skills to present complex matters clearly and succinctly
Natural ability to develop relationships, internally and externally

Expected annual base salary range:
$150,000 - $250,000Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.
Additional compensation: Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits offered in connection with the advertised role.
