Marsh McLennan is seeking candidates for the position of Legal Counsel based in Milan.

The successful candidate will perform responsibilities for Italy and will provide legal advice and support to other Eastern Mediterranean countries, including Turkey, Greece, Cyprus & Israel.

We will count on you to:
Provide expert legal advice and support to internal stakeholders on a wide range of legal matters, including but not limited to contract negotiations, regulatory compliance, intellectual property, employment law and dispute resolution;
Represent the organization to minimize legal, compliance and regulatory risk by resolving issues and ensuring adherence to business and legal standards;
Draft, review and approve policies, procedures, contracts and related documents for business operations;
conduct legal research and analysis to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations;
Develop, implement and provide reporting on a variety of legal, compliance, regulatory and contractual matters;
Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations that may impact the organization and provide proactive advice and recommendations.
What you need to have:
Master’s Degree in Law;
At least 5 years’ of relevant experience in a reputable law firm or in-house legal department;
Previous international working experience in a similar role would be considered a plus, especially if related to the Eastern Mediterranean region;
Experience in handling international sanctions screening would be considered a plus;
Strong knowledge of Insurance-specific laws and regulations;
Proven experience in contract drafting, negotiation, and review;
Commercially focused, culturally sensitive with excellent communication skills and business acumen;
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
Excellent written and verbal skills in Italian and English; knowledge of either Arabic, Turkish or Hebrew would be considered a plus;
Ability to support and embrace change in a fast-paced environment.
