What We're Looking For

We are seeking a legal professional who is passionate about delivering value and can effectively prioritize and execute tasks. In this role, you will contribute to cross-functional projects, leveraging your expertise across various legal domains to ensure compliance and the timely delivery of initiatives. 

Key Responsibilities

Your role will involve a broad and impactful set of responsibilities, including:

Project Management: Lead complex legal projects under supervision, ensuring effective coordination with internal teams and external advisors to achieve project goals. Contribute to other initiatives by tackling complex tasks supporting project objectives and deadlines.

Business Partnership: Leverage expertise across multiple areas of law to provide counsel on commercial and regulatory matters. Offer actionable advice to teams such as Payments, Product Development, HR and others, primarily focusing on operations in the EU and US. Stay ahead of legal and regulatory developments to proactively address potential risks, ensure compliance, and support business objectives.

Operational Excellence: Manage complex operational legal tasks, including drafting and negotiating critical agreements, navigating regulatory requirements, and providing actionable legal advice to various departments.

Risk Mitigation: Identify, assess, and mitigate business and legal risks related to products, services, and initiatives. Develop risk management strategies that balance legal requirements with business needs.

Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate closely with leaders from Product, Marketing, Payments, Finance, and HR on initiatives spanning multiple regions and business areas. Serve as a trusted advisor, providing insights and recommendations that support business growth and resilience. 

Process Improvement: Play an active role in refining and improving legal workflows and procedures. Introduce innovative solutions to optimise ways of working within the legal team and across the organisation.

Required skills

Proven track record of successfully leading projects across the EU, UK and US, combined with experience in common law.

4-6 years PQE in a top-tier law firm and/or in-house at an international corporation, with a focus on corporate/commercial matters in a global corporate environment.

Experience in supporting cross-functional projects within an international setting, demonstrating an understanding of the complexities involved.

Ability to provide expert, business-centric advice.

Strong analytical mindset, delving into complex issues to uncover root causes and implement effective solutions.

Strong communicator and negotiator with excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of simplifying complex legal concepts for non-lawyer team members.

Fluency in English at a minimum C1 level and professional experience working in English.

Would Be Advantageous

Experience with intellectual property and privacy law.

Experience with employment law.

Experience working with technology companies.
