To complement our legal team, we are looking for a Legal Counsel to join our team in Breda (NL).

 

We have an opportunity for a Legal Counsel to provide legal support across all aspects of our action business for the EMEA region, based out of our Breda office. The Legal Counsel assists in protecting RBGlobal legal interest and maintaining its operations with the scope of the established by law

To excel in this role, you have a strong background in commercial law, corporate law, intellectual property, and compliance, with the ability to navigate complex international transactions.  You provide hands-on counsel to all level of executive staff and assist with the operation of the legal department. The Legal Counsel is responsible for identifying and analyzing legal issues, drafting key documents, presenting clear recommendations to senior management and assuring legal compliance.

 

Day-to-day tasks include:

Advise on legal aspects of the auction process, including consignment agreements, buyer and seller contracts, and terms of sale. Provide pragmatic and business oriented legal advice to the international business of Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers, IronPlanet, Mascus, SynetiQ, Ritchie Bros. Logistics and more.  Manage intellectual property matters, including copyright and trademark issues and marketing materials. Provide counsel on regulatory compliance, including anti-money laundering regulations and data privacy laws.  Draft, review, and negotiate various commercial contracts and agreements.  Resolving disputes, managing litigation, and negotiating acceptable settlements.  Assisting in managing the corporate records of subsidiaries. Stay current with relevant laws and regulations affecting the industry. Collaborate with external counsel on litigation matters and dispute resolution. Perform other duties as assigned

 

Here is what you bring

Master law degree with minimum 4 years’ experience in a commercial environment Pragmatic solution orientated multitasker who takes ownership, self-starter and committed team player with a can-do mentality who can manage multiple priorities. Strong commercial contracting and negotiation skills, drafting skills and its application in a commercial, B2B environment. Excellent communication, problem solving and decision-making skills and ability to translate legal concepts and requirements into actionable guidance for business and support teams. Confidentiality in all matters as well as discretion and sound judgment. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

 This position is for 24 hours / 3 days per week, preferably a minimum of two days in the Dutch offices.
