Legal Counsel:
We are seeking a highly skilled Legal Counsel to provide strategic legal support to our Electronics Business in Japan. In this role, you will act as a trusted business partner of our Electronics business sector, offering legal advice and guidance to ensure compliance and mitigate risks associated with business operations. As Japan is one of the strategic markets for our business and attracts global attention given the current geopolitical landscape, you will play a critical role in navigating business through dynamic legal environment with flexible and practical solutions.
You will be an integral part of the business leadership team, directly contributing to the success of our Electronics business. You will also represent Japan legal team in global legal organization dedicated to Electronics business sector, directly exchanging insights and innovative ideas with experts and implementing global legal initiatives locally.
Key Accountabilities:
Provide strategic legal advice on various matters related to Electronics business, i.e. semiconductor, optronics, and surface solutions.
Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, ensuring alignment with business objectives and legal requirements.
Conduct legal assessments of complex cases and provide recommendations to mitigate risks.
Support projects related to business development deals and legal entity restructuring
Collaborate closely with the General Manager and other members of the business leadership team to drive strategic initiatives.
Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations impacting the electronics materials industry e.g. economic security regulations.
Develop and implement legal policies and procedures to support business operations.
Strategic Impact:
As a member of the business leadership team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the strategic direction of the Electronics Business in Japan. Your legal expertise will support key business decisions, enhance operational efficiency, and safeguard the company’s interests in a rapidly evolving market. By providing actionable legal insights, you will help drive business growth and ensure compliance with industry standards.
Candidate's Profile:
Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent legal degree from an accredited institution
Admission to practice in law in Japan and/or common law jurisdiction is plus but not mandatory
Minimum 7 years of legal experience. Experience in semiconductor, optronics (display) or other electronics industries is plus but not madatory.
Experience in Life Science and/or Healthcare industries is plus
Strong understanding of contract law, corporate law, and legal compliance issues.
Proven ability to manage complex legal matters and provide practical solutions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strategic mindset.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
