Legal Counsel
Salary – Circa £50,000

We’re looking for an experienced Legal Counsel to join our UK Litigation team at Aviva. This is a great opportunity for a legal professional with litigation expertise who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys providing strategic legal advice. A bit about the job:
In this role, you will be responsible for providing legal advice on a variety of litigation matters across General Insurance (GI), Life, and Health litigation. You’ll work alongside Aviva’s internal teams to assess risks, manage litigation cases, and provide guidance on legal issues as they arise.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Managing a caseload of small claims and fast-track litigation.
Supporting on larger claims and complaints that could escalate to litigation.
Advising internal stakeholders on pre-action guidance, settlement terms, and litigation risks.
Supporting junior team members in developing their claims management knowledge.
Collaborating with legal and commercial colleagues on complex legal matters.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
Qualified Legal Executive, Solicitor, or Barrister entitled to practice in the UK.
Litigation experience with strong knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules and case management.
Ability to build relationships with internal stakeholders, external advisers, and third parties.
Strong problem-solving skills and excellent written and verbal communication.
Experience in financial services or insurance law (desirable but not essential).

Salary – Circa £50,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
