Job Summary:

Responsible for coordinating contract requests and approvals, drafting contracts, performing legal review for all contracts and managing fully signed contracts to meet all external legal and regulatory requirements and internal policies and procedures.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Follows internal policies, standard operating procedures, and state and federal regulatory requirements related to contract management and compliance with applicable law.Receives requests for new contracts and amendments and solicits approvals from organizational leaders.Obtains requests for proposals and fair market value opinions.Consults with leaders and other employees to draft cost-efficient and compliant contracts.  Negotiates contract language with vendors to accomplish business and legal needs of organization.  Negotiates legal terms with vendors on designated contracts.Performs legal review of all contracts and provides approval for designated contracts.  Provides legal advice and performs legal research pertaining to contractual and compliance issues to organizational leaders and other employees.Actively manages hundreds of contracts to ensure contract expiration notices are received and acted upon by responsible parties 90 days prior to contract expiration.Organizes and documents work electronically through the use of a contract log, electronic filing system, and electronic contract management database.Assists with updating and maintaining the electronic contract management database.Handles inquiries about contracts and the contracting process.Proactively seeks innovative ways to streamline operations and follows through on implementing new processes.Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA)

Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.Frequent keyboard use/data entry.Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting and gripping.Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.Rare climbing.
