Job Description
Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements with business partners or vendors
Monitor any regulatory updates that have a direct impact to the business and advise on necessary adjustments to policies and operations
Conduct legal research and prepare internal legal memo on diverse legal issues and key business initiatives
Advise on legal risks associated with the key business initiatives and propose risk mitigation strategies
Establish and maintain good relationship with internal stakeholders (e.g., group operations and the relevant business units) to align legal strategies with commercial and group-wide goals
Provide clear, strategic, and pragmatic legal advice to internal stakeholders on day-to-day operations and key business initiatives
Support business expansion plans by advising on legal implication of the new key initiatives or new market (as relevant)
Liaising and coordinating with external law firms for any key business initiatives requiring advice from external lawyers (where necessary)
Prepare business Standard Operating Procedure and standard template for commercial agreements
Conduct periodic internal reviews or audits to ensure the fulfillment of all legal compliances and obligations.
Requirements
Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law from a reputable university
Minimum 3 years’ experience as an in-house counsel in a reputable company or in a similar position at a reputable law firm. Having experiences and familiarity with travel products industry is preferred
Has the ability to work on a wide range of complex matters with minimal supervision
Has been exposed to engagement with high level and working level of relevant government officials
Has a business-oriented mindset with a focus on achieving practical solutions
Has the ability to navigate through regulatory barriers and strategize to find a solution to overcome such barriers
Has an excellent knowledge and understanding on legal aspects, contract drafting, and understanding of commercial businesses and their compliances
Has excellent communication, negotiation, networking, management, critical thinking, analytical, and leadership skills
Self-motivated, with an ability to work under pressure and to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic corporate environment
High level of integrity and professionalism
Fluent in English, both oral and writing
