What you'll be doing  

Acts as trusted partner to business executives as well as external parties such as regulators, external counsel and public authorities. Responsible for ensuring that the legal service provided by the in-house legal counsels working in his/her team is of high quality, efficient and aligned with the business objectives and strategy of the company.

Developing and implementing the legal strategy and policies for the company in alignment with the business goals and vision. Providing strategic legal advice and guidance to the executive team and other key stakeholders on various commercial matters, such as contracts, transactions, disputes, compliance, and risk management. Overseeing and supervising the work of the Team/ in-house counsels, ensuring high-quality and efficient legal support. Establishing and maintaining effective relationships with the management, partners and other stakeholders. Liaising and negotiating with external parties, such as customers, suppliers, regulators, external counsel, and public authorities, representing and protecting the interests of the company. Ensuring the compliance of the company with the relevant laws and regulations. Keeping abreast of the latest developments and trends in the industry and the legal profession. Oversee all legal matters under his/her responsibility, including contracts, litigation, and regulatory compliance. Collaborate with external counsel as needed to address complex legal issues. Develop and implement the legal strategy and policies for the company. Manage and develop his/her in-house legal team, ensuring high- quality legal support. Mentor the in-house legal counsel and other legal staff in his/her team. Allocate and monitor the workload and performance of his/her team.

What you’ll need to succeed  

Master’s Degree in Law and a Juris Doctor Degree from a reputable school. Experience in Commercial Law and Corporate Law. A license or certification to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction. A minimum of 10 years of external or in-house legal experience, in a managerial or leadership role.
A membership in good standing with the American Bar Association or another professional organization.
A working knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations that affect the business of the company.
Proficient in MS Office and other software tools that facilitate legal work
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Ability to research, analyse, and evaluate legal issues and risks. Ability to draft, review, and negotiate contracts and other legal documents.
Ability to provide accurate and timely legal advice and support to the management and other staff members.
Ability to find creative and effective solutions to legal problems and challenges.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a diverse team of internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to adapt to changing business needs and legal developments.
Ability to uphold the highest standards of ethics and integrity.
