This position is based in Sao Paulo.
Position Description
The Legal Director will support LATAM business strategy and drive management of LATAM legal initiatives through pragmatic and proactive advice. Some key responsibilities include:
Ensure adequate, timely, and effective legal solutions to the LATAM Business Area Office, including contract management, corporate governance, and competition law. Act as a value-adding advisor and business partner on selected business units and projects driven by the LATAM Business Area, ensuring efficient alignment of legal activities, procedures, and best practices throughout LATAM. Manage and improve contract management in the Business Area Office, as well as aspects of product security, fostering efficiency and alignment with internal policies. Act as Data Protection Responsible for the LATAM office, driving data protection agenda and risk management. Act as people manager for LATAM Legal positions, ensuring high-quality people management while being an active member of key strategic groups in LATAM, EM, and IO, providing high-quality contributions.
Required Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you need to have:
Bachelor's degree in law and admission to the legal profession. Master Level Degree in Law is a plus. Minimum of 9 years of experience as a legal advisor in international companies or law firms, with a strong preference for candidates with a corporate background. Demonstrates solid business judgment and effectively interacts with executive and senior management and external partners. Fluent EnglishNice to have:
Leadership experience, as well as fluency in Spanish or Portuguese.
