Job Summary
The Legal Editor supporting Pacific Case Base is required to read and analyze cases delivered by
various Australian and New Zealand courts, create digests and identify the accurate case history,
citations and legislation treatments and provide for needed data to complete the information
needed by the customers.
Accountabilities
· To read and analyze case law, to generate high-quality editorial content based on own analysis.
Content is to be delivered in English to a standard established by house-style and quality
framework
· To generate content whilst working to productivity, timeliness and currency deadlines
· To identify and allocate taxonomical/topic associations to case law based on analysis of subject
matter of case. The editor shall possess an intermediate knowledge of AU/NZ laws and courts
system, and/or a strong desire and commitment to gain knowledge of AU/NZ laws and courts
system.
· He/she must be highly productive, a self-starter but also a consistent team player with strong
collaboration skills and willingness to balance personal achievement with team goals.
· The editor must be highly motivated, possess excellent communication skills via email, video call
and chat.
· The editor must be flexible and should be willing to adapt/adjust to any changes whether as to
future trainings, shift schedules and deliverables.
· The editor is expected to have a customer-centric mindset and ensure quality of online products
by reporting errors and assisting in the resolution of such errors.
Qualifications
· Law graduate
· Sound level of computer literacy - Knowledgeable of Microsoft Office programs especially MS
Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Excel
· Possesses excellent analysis and research skills
· Demonstrate ability in the application of expert information to practical publishing environment
· Superior reading, legal comprehension and proofreading skills
· Very good communication, organization and problem-solving skills
· Legal practice and/or legal industry experience.
