Job DescriptionResponsibilities
The Legal Financial Analyst position responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Support the Legal department of a large administrative Shared Services Company.Oversee and track legal department’s budget and expenses and provide monthly budget reports to the organization’s subsidiary businesses. Assist in the implementation and adoption of a new eBilling system.Work daily within the eBilling system to ensure the accuracy of submitted invoices.Collaborate with attorneys and firms to set up new matters withing the eBilling system. Prepare and distribute monthly preliminary financial reports for subsidiary businesses.Assist in responding to all budgetary, forecast and inter-company billing questions received from subsidiary businesses.Track and report accruals for both the legal department and subsidiary businesses.Assist in the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for financial processes.Institute new processes to streamline workflow within the legal department.Review and track law firm timekeeper rate requests and provide recommendations.Work closely with law firms to resolve invoice discrepancies and ensure compliance with billing guidelines. Liaise with attorneys, law firms and finance teams to ensure smooth operations.Support ad hoc financial analyses and projects as required by the legal department.
Required Skills/Education
BA in Finance/Accounting or equivalent work experience.5+ years of finance or accounting experience in a diversified medium to large company environment.Excellent written and verbal communication skillsExcellent PC and Excel skills and their appropriate applicationsSAP experience a plus but not requiredAbility to work with all levels of personnel and resolve issues
